This is the eighth and final article in the Series.

I have long felt that both Slow Play and Slow Play Penalties are a problem we have not been able to solve equitably. Not only have the penalties usually been somewhat arbitrary, but we also have what I see as this ridiculous spectacle of a pair’s penalty being determined by the speed of the other pair. This never made sense to me – I know of no sport or game where one side ‘speeds up’ to try to help the other avoid a negative score.
