This is an area where I have long had strong opinions about how things should be in live play. I don’t want to get too involved here discussing particulars about claims. Mostly, this is an area where I think current law does a reasonable job.

Every year, thousands of false claims get accepted. To counterbalance this, my guiding principle is the player making an incorrect claim should, if questioned, never gain. If there is doubt as to damage, the ‘false-claimer’ loses the ruling. I also have a strong belief that it should matter if the claim was obviously accompanied…
